Our region has produced some outstanding tourism businesses over the years and as a case study, one only has to look at the success of Rubyvale Gem Gallery.

Peter & Eileen Brown from the Rubyvale Gem Gallery entered these regional awards three years ago for the first time and won their category of Retail Services. They went on to win again in their second year and again in their third year; earning them a Gold 'Hall of fame' Award in 2007. They then went on to win both the Queensland State Award and the Australian National Award - an unique achievement for a small tourism business located on the Sapphire Gemfields and an excellent recognition for their business and commitment to tourism excellence.
