Enjoy the peace and tranquility of your own private cabin lakeside, where it's just you and the rainforest birds. Relax the afternoon way in a hammock strung between two palm trees on Great Keppel Island or perhaps take a morning walk along the many white sandy beaches.

The impressive Fitzroy River is another location you should certainly visit if you enjoy the outdoors. Take a relaxing walk along the river's tree-lined boardwalk, which features many historical Rockhampton buildings. Throw in a fishing line and try your hand at catching one of the region's legendary barramundi. The riverbank is equipped with electric barbeques and pinic facilities so why no bring the entire family along.

Looking for some country hospitality and solitude. Try a farm stay where its just you and mother nature. Laze by a blazing camp fire or simply sit back and relax with your favourite book under one of the many shadey trees.

Perhaps you would like to take a drive up Mount Archer to breathe in the magnificent views of the region. Have your lunch in the company of the many birds and kangaroos that inhabit the mount or venture off on a hike through the various bushwalking tracks. The sights from the top of Mount Archer are simply superb.

Why not take the family for a day trip over to Great Keppel island or follow your nose to the scented garden and man made waterfall at Kershaw Gardens North Rockhampton.
