Visiting Journalist Program
Capricorn Tourism’s Visiting Journalist Program has been operating successfully in region for the past 5 years. The program is designed to introduce members’ products and services to media and travel writers. Resulting stories have the potential to appear in State, National, and International publications.
In 2008, this program generated over $17 million worth of positive media coverage. Capricorn Tourism has a media consultant, who sources a number of these quality journalists, and also partners with Tourism Queensland for writers they host during regional visits.
Capricorn Tourism encourages travel journalists to visit this diverse region.
Our members welcome the opportunity to showcase their tourism products and provide some “local colour” with information on the unique attractions and interesting characters that can provide a wealth of story ideas.
