Reef to Outback - An Undiscovered Australian Journey

The Reef to Outback - An Undiscovered Australian Journey is an international marketing campaign launched at the Australian Tourism Exchange in June 2008.

The 'Reef to Outback' concept complements the existing international-ready drive routes of The Great Tropical Drive (Tropical North QLD & surrounds) and The Great Sunshine Way (Sunshine Coast & surrounds).

The Reef to Outback journey offers international visitors an unique experience from the Southern Great Barrier Reef to Australia's outback by taking a journey through the uncrowded and perhaps not-so-well-known hidden treasures where Australians like to live and take holidays.

The journey is designed to be incorporated into other itineraries and has the flexibility to suit all needs, time-frames and interests. Within hours of all major international access points, visitors can be either snorkelling or diving on the Great Barrier Reef, mustering cattle on one of the many farm stays and cattle stations or exploring one of the many National Parks or walking along the pristine beaches in the region.
